Meetings
July 17, 2008
Still no lie. We're pushing July back a week, too! Why? iPhone, baby! iPhone!
iPhone 3G drops on the 11th, the day after we would normally meet. What's fun about that? So by mutual agreement at the June meeting, we're pushing the July meeting back a week to the 17th.
What's the agenda? TBD. But you have to believe it's going to have something to do with the iPhone, right?
Will Apple have removed the NDA surrounding iPhone SDK by then? We don't know. What will show if they haven't? We don't know!
Hey, why not volunteer? Lead a meeting! - Send us your suggestions!
UPDATE: it turns out that Apple still hasn't lifted the NDA on the iPhone SDK. What's up with that?? What will it mean for the meeting? Who knows -- we'll probably still end up talking about it, at least informally.
But the great news is that we now have a presentation!
Kolja Wawrowsky will be giving a presentation on the research and software development he is doing. The title of his presentation is:
"Where art meets science. Visualization software for the life sciences."

Yep, it's no lie. We're pushing June back a week! Get back June, get back!
Since WWDC occupies the second week -- and we'll all have lots to talk about after WWDC -- we're moving the June meeting to the evening of the 19th.
What will we talk about? Anything and everything! WWDC (to the extent we can), the Keynote, the iPhone, the parties, the entertainment, the water show.
Plus, if you signed up for a Super Cool CocoaHeads Polo Shirt -- and if you did, you know who you are -- we have a few left to give out if you didn't make it the May meeting.
Don't miss it!

This month...um, we're still working on it!
We'll have a rousing discussion of Cocoa. Perhaps on how to build and support frameworks, your own and third party. Perhaps on something entirely different!
Plus, if you signed up for a Super Cool CocoaHeads Polo Shirt -- and if you did, you know who you are -- we'll be distributing them at the May meeting.
Don't miss it!

Greetings LA CocoaHeads!
Thursday's presentation will be given by Darrin Cardani from Apple, who has graciously agreed to talk about Cocoa multithreading. Thanks Darrin!
We will be meeting at the offices of E! Entertainment on Thursday, October 12th at 7pm. The meeting will last until 9pm.
The address is: 5750 Wilshire Blvd.LA, CA 90036 Google Map
Free street parking is available. I'd suggest trying Masselin Ave, which is one block East of the E! building.
The group will meet at the picnic tables in the courtyard of the West building (on Courtyard Place) in front of the lobby of the E! building. From there, we'll move up to conference room 3A.
After the presentation, I hope to solicit input from the group about what subjects would be interesting for future presentations, as well as (hopefully) find out who in the group would be interested in presenting something themselves!
There are several restaurants right across the street so after the meeting anyone interested can join us for a post-meeting chat.
I'm looking forward to meeting with everyone again.
See you Thursday,
Rob Ross, Lead Software Engineer
